Interested In Becoming Catholic?
Each year on Holy Saturday during the Easter Vigil, thousands of men and women are received into the Catholic Church in the United States. Parishes welcome and prepare these new members through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). RCIA is a formation program to help non-Catholics understand and experience the teachings and practices of the Catholic Church.
For men and women who are baptized Christians, but not Roman Catholics, a profession of faith is required but they are not baptized again. Some participants have never been baptized and so they are baptized and make a profession of faith.
The RCIA program at Holy Spirit formally begins each September, although inquirers are welcome any time during the year.
