Holy Spirit recognizes that each child has different learning, social, and emotional needs and styles. In addition to your child’s teachers, we provide resources that can help your child’s academic success should they need additional support or differentiation.

Mr. Jordan Best, Mental Health Counselor

Mr. Best, is located in our comfortable Counseling Center, right in the center of Middle School. He is available to support the emotional needs of students in a variety of ways:

  • Monthly Social-Emotional Learning classes for PreK - Grade 5.

  • Optional theme-based small groups for middle school.

  • Weekly Check-Ins to meet the needs of individual students to discuss their concerns, stressors, or achievements.

  • Collaborate with outside therapists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to ensure that each student’s overall therapeutic needs are met.

  • Provides resources to parents and is available to discuss concerns or provide insight to help their child succeed throughout the academic school year.

Mrs. Kathleen Harren, K - Gr. 4 Learning Coordinator

Mrs. Erica Spohn, Gr. 5 - 8 Learning Coordinator

Mrs. Harren and Mrs. Spohn, our two Learning Coordinators, are avail- able to provide students with additional academic support needed inside and outside of the classroom. They work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and students to develop accommodation plans that give learners the ability to be successful at Holy Spirit and beyond. Additionally, they can coordinate with your outside resources to arrange time during the school day for intervention opportunities.

Emily Clark

Ms. Emily Clark - Reading and Language Interventionist

Starting in the 2024-25 school year, Ms. Clark will be teaching two class periods of 5th grade Religion. Outside of that time, she will take on a new role as a Reading and Language Interventionist for the school. Reading intervention provides additional strategies and activities to boost reading skills in the areas of decoding, comprehension, and fluency for struggling readers.
